STATE BAR SEEKS CHIEF
PROSECUTOR

The State Bar of
California is seeking applicants for the position of Chief Trial
Counsel, responsible for the bar's disciplinary enforcement division
that investigates complaints against attorneys and prosecutes cases
of professional misconduct.
The chief is appointed by the
State Bar's Board of Governors to a four-year term and must be
confirmed by the State Senate Rules Committee.
The position
is located in the State Bar's Los Angeles office. Application deadline is September 25, 2009.
Applicants must:
- be active members of The State Bar of
California;
- have a demonstrated verifiable reputation
for integrity and no history of disciplinary offenses as an
attorney or in any other capacity;
- have a minimum 5 years, 10 years
preferred, progressively responsible active experience in the
practice of law, including substantial trial experience, with such
law practice in broad areas of the law;
- have a minimum 2 years, 5 years
preferred, prosecutorial or similar experience in administrative
agency proceedings or disciplinary agencies;
- have a minimum 2 years, 5 years preferred,
management/supervisory experience in administering personnel and
budget requirements.

references.
